Here is one of my favourite recipes at automn for breakfast at the B&B. It was given to me by my mother in law, an authentic Périgourdine. it is also called the Millassou by people from Périgord but everone’s got his own recipe…
Ingredients :
- A 5 cm thick slice of pumpkin
- Vanilla (powder or extract)
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
- 100g flour
- 3 eggs
- 25 cl of milk
- 1 big apple or 2 small
Preparation
- The day before or a few hours before : cook the pumpkin in a saucepan with a large amount of water until tender
- Let it drain and mix it with a little vanilla and 1 teaspoon of sugar
- Preheat the oven at Th.7
- Add to the mixed pumpkin, 3 eggs, 3 tbsp. of sugar, your flour and the milk and whisk together
- Pour into a buttered and floured loaf pan (to prevent it from sticking)
- Peel the cut your apple into thin slices and arrange them in a rosette on the preparation (as for an apple pie). Do not hesitate to add slices to make a beautiful rosette
- Bake for 40 minutes at Th.7
- Out of the oven, sprinkle a little vanilla sugar on the top
- Eat cold or warm
