By staying at Les Hauts de Saint Vincent, you will be ideally located to visit the main cultural sites of the Périgord Noir and to practice the essential activities of the region:
Sarlat medieval city
Located 15 minutes from Les Hauts de Saint Vincent, the medieval city of Sarlat is a must-see. To make the most of its exceptional heritage, the best thing to do is to book a guided tour to discover the secrets of its cobbled streets, its many historical monuments and houses of character. If you can, we recommend the night tour organized all summer.
Castle and village of Beynac
Leaving the house, let yourself be guided along the Dordogne river and go to Beynac, an authentic medieval village leaning against the cliff dominated by its medieval castle. Discover it in pictures with this magnificent video made by one of our guests.
Milandes castle
Just 10 minutes from the house, visit the former home of Josephine Baker, one of the most exceptional women of the 20th century, and discover its incredible history.
Village of La Roque Gageac
5 minutes from Castelnaud is La Roque Gageac, a beautiful village on the banks of the Dordogne where you can take a gabarre ride along the Dordogne.
The gardens of the Manor of Eyrignac
40 minutes from the house. A unique example of Topiary Art in France with new universes more and more colorful: visit the 7 gardens according to your desires and enjoy a walk in the middle of nature on the 200 hectares forest estate. Preferential rate for our guests.
The gardens of Marqueyssac
10 minutes away, discover the Hanging Gardens of Marqueyssac where, from the boxwood gardens, you can climb on a rocky promontory offering a breathtaking view of the whole valley. If the weather is good, you can also have a candlelight dinner on the terrace of the castle.
Prehistory in Dordogne
Prehistory lovers will be delighted. At 15 minutes from the house, you will find in Les Eyzies de Tayac many sites to visit (l’Abri Pataud, la grotte du Grand Roc, Font de Gaume…), the troglodytic site of La Roque Saint Christophe, the fortified house of Reignac.
A little further away at 20 km, Lascaux is of course inevitable (reservation recommended, especially in high season)
Canoeing on the Dordogne
Discovering the valley of the 5 castles from the river is an experience to live. For nature lovers, a canoe – kayak trip is ideal, and we recommend the bases of Saint Vincent de Cosse to embark, 5 minutes from the guest house.
